Music Therapy
Music therapy incorporates music as a way to improve your mental health and overall well-being. From listening to music, playing an instrument, singing or writing a song, music therapy, when practiced with a licensed therapist, gives you the ability to discover or express underlying causes of pain or stress. People of all ages can benefit from music therapy, and no amount of musical ability or prior experience is needed.
Talk Therapy
Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, involves talking to a trained professional to help you work through and deal with life on life’s terms. Whether that’s working through negative thoughts or fears, dealing with anxiety or relationship troubles, talk therapy allows you to explore your thoughts and feelings to learn how they affect your life. Talk therapy gives you a safe space to explore and identify these issues while developing tools and strategies to deal with them.
DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
DBT, or dialectical behavioral therapy, is a type of psychotherapy that is a modification of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). The goal of DBT is to teach people how to live in the present moment, develop skills to manage painful emotions, and improve their relationships with others. DBT encourages an individual to move away from extremes and find balance by decreasing black and white or all-or-nothing thinking.
Meditation
Meditation is an ancient practice that involves using a particular technique—such as progressive relaxation, visualization, loving-kindness meditation, or others—to create within us a more heightened sense of awareness and focused attention. Regular meditation helps us be aware and focused even when we are not meditating. Meditation has been proven to help us deal with stress, reduce anxiety, and increase compassion and creativity.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your attention to the present moment and learning to accept it without judgment. It is skill that can be developed and applied in our daily life and has been proven to help us regulate our emotions, practice self-compassion, improve our quality of sleep, lower anxiety, and be less distracted in our daily lives. Mindfulness also has the potential to help us communicate and relate better to those around us.
Reiki
Reiki is an energy healing treatment that utilizes either a hands-on technique incorporating light touch or a hands-off technique that is performed from a distance. Distance reiki can be performed virtually and works the same way as in-person reiki; thoughts and energy will be directed to you but touch is not required. The purpose of reiki is to relieve pain and stress, induce relaxation, release emotional blockages, accelerate natural healing, and promote overall healing and well-being as a whole; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
